NRN named finalist for Best Media Brand Neal Award

Publication tapped for three awards in most competitive revenue class

The Jesse H. Neal Awards named Nation’s Restaurant News as a finalist for the Best Media Brand for overall editorial excellence in the largest business-to-business revenue category.

The Neal Awards, the Pulitzer Prizes of business-to-business media, judges the Best Media Brand category on a publication’s depth of offerings, journalistic excellence, presentation, service to readers and innovation across print, digital media, events and social platforms

“The editorial team at Nation’s Restaurant News is an unparalleled group of writers, editors, digital producers and designers that create industry-leading content to the executives in foodservice,” said Sarah Lockyer, group publisher of the Informa Restaurant & Food Group. “Their work drives our growth in audience and the connections we create between solution and product providers and restaurant operators.”

The Neal Awards also tapped NRN as a finalist for the Best Single Issue of a Magazine for its redesigned issue “Teen Vision.” The issue took a close look at how the latest generation of teenagers — Generation Z —  eats, works and plays.

“I am thrilled that the Neal committee recognized the amazing journalism and information our editorial team serves up every day through our web, print and event platforms,” said Jenna Telesca, NRN editor-in-chief and senior content director.

“For more than 50 years, NRN has been the largest foodservice media brand thanks to our talented and experienced editors who approach their work with rigor and creativity.

The Neal committee also recognized NRN as a finalist for Best Art Direction for a Cover, a new category, for the cover of its Coming Clean special report, an investigation into the restaurant industry’s relationship with and recovery from a culture of substance abuse.

The Neal Awards, founded by Connectiv in 1955, will be announced at an awards luncheon on March 29, 2019 in New York City.
