The 2011 Women’s Foodservice Forum Annual Leadership Development Conference began Sunday with more than 2,000 executives coming together to celebrate leadership and push the ideals of gender equality and diversity even further.
At the Orlando World Center Resort, WFF board members, executives and numerous first-time attendees began the four-day event by honoring trailblazing leaders and discussing business success with keynote presenter, Ivanka Trump.
On Monday, Maureen Hurley, WFF chairwoman and the executive vice president and chief administration officer of Rich Products Corp., welcomed attendees to the first full day of education sessions. She encouraged conference participants to take charge of their own careers and use the WFF annual conference to make lasting connections.
“The most successful women don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything,” she said.
Monday’s keynote speaker, Dr. Bertice Berry, a best-selling author and award-winning lecturer and comedienne, echoed that sentiment, pushing attendees to build character, connect with others and create a purpose.
“When you walk with purpose, you collide with destiny,” Berry said.
