Menu Tracker: New items from Burger King, Taco Bell, and Jack in the Box

Plus innovation at Capriotti’s, Doc Popcorn, Fogo de Chão, Gott’s Roadside, Hannah’s Bretzel, Jamba, Krispy Kreme, McAlister’s Deli, Mission Taco Joint, Potbelly, Quiznos, Red Lobster, Rita’s Italian ice & Frozen Custard, Rock & Brews, Sixty Vines, Velvet Taco, and Yogurtland

We’re still at the height of summer, but some chains think it’s pumpkin spice season anyway. Looking at you, Jamba and Krispy Kreme.

Potbelly seems to know that it’s camping season with its S’mores Cookie, and maybe Yogurtland does too with its S’mores cereal topping.

Taco Bell has an extremely summery Watermelon Berry Freeze available nationwide, and Rita’s Italian ice & Frozen Custard has equally summer frozen lemonade. Gott’s Roadside has a bunch of summery specials as well, and Sixty Vines has a frozen Aperol Spritz.

Fogo de Chão is getting a jump on fall with some autumnal additions to its Market Table.

Other chains don’t seem to know what time it is, or maybe it’s not important to them. Sure, the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding came out in 2002, but Quiznos has seen fit to name a sub after it now, and Rock & Brews has a cocktail that evokes a song from 1984.

Speaking of anachronism or nostalgia or whatever, Burger King is just the latest chain to roll out wraps, and Jack in the Box is bringing back potato wedges.

McAlister’s Deli has some new catering specials, and Red Lobster has new items available only in California and one location in Nevada.

Hannah’s Bretzel and Mission Taco Joint have some charity-related limited-time offers, Doc Popcorn has a spicy cheese snack, Capriotti’s is seeing fit to highlight a sandwich from Bronx bodegas, and Velvet Taco’s Weekly Taco Feature has chicken, pesto and pine nuts.

Correction: August 14, 2023
This gallery has been updated to reflect the fact that, due to supply-chain issues, McAlister's Deli's new menu items will not be available until August 30. The prices for the Jamba items have been clarified.
