NRN Weekly Wrap: Top 10 stories

A look at some of foodservice’s most popular better burgers was the juiciest story this week on NRN.com. From In-N-Out and McDonald’s to high-end selections from 5 Napkin Burger and BLT Burger, NRN broke down eight popular better burgers and explained what goes into the different sandwiches.

Quick-service segment news also grabbed readers’ attention this week. Wendy’s announced a new restaurant prototype with an open kitchen and an emphasis on high-quality ingredients. Meanwhile, Burger King discussed ways to broaden its appeal, including diversifying its menu with smoothies and oatmeal, and Domino’s brought back '80s cartoon mascot The Noid.

Meanwhile, unit counts for U.S. restaurants continued to fall, but there’s more demand for foodservice workers. The People Report Workforce Index showed an uptick in hiring in restaurant jobs.
