Italian food is the most popular ethnic cuisine, with 61 percent of surveyed consumers saying they eat it frequently, according to the report.

Half of surveyed consumers say they eat Mexican cuisine frequently, and 31 percent eat it occasionally, according to the report.
Thirty-six percent of surveyed consumers say they eat Chinese food frequently, while 42 percent say they eat it occasionally, according to the report.

Surveyed consumers in South are much more likely than those in other regions to frequently eat regional American cuisine, according to the report.
Seventeen percent of surveyed consumers say they eat Mediterranean cuisine frequently, while 24 percent eat it occasionally, according to the report. In addition, 25 percent are not familiar with this cuisine, while 11 percent are familiar but have never tried it.
Twenty-one percent of surveyed consumers ages 25-34 say they eat sushi/sashimi at least once a month – tops among the age categories, according to the report. Among Millennials who are frequent ethnic cuisine eaters, 38 percent say they eat it at least once a month.
Younger consumers are much more likely than older diners to frequently eat ethnic fusion, according to the report. Of surveyed Millennials who frequently eat ethnic cuisine, 41 percent say they have it at least once a month.
Thirteen percent of surveyed consumers say they eat Japanese cuisine other than sushi frequently, and 28 percent eat it occasionally, according to the report. In addition, 20 percent are not familiar with this cuisine, while 12 percent are familiar but have never tried it.
