Working Lunch: National Restaurant Association, DoorDash discuss national policy framework on third-party delivery

Plus, a look at extending hazard pay mandates to restaurant workers

The National Restaurant Association and the major third-party delivery platforms have come together and agreed on a set of principles around transparency on fees, food safety, alcohol and other issues that will define their relationship going forward. This week on the Working Lunch podcast, the team from Align Public Strategies discusses this agreement with Katie Witman, DoorDash’s senior policy advisor, and Mike Whatley, the NRA’s vice president of state government relations.

Meanwhile, hazard pay mandates are gaining traction in localities across the country, especially in California. Up until now, they have been focused on the grocery sector, but last week, a major county in California will specifically vote on extending it to restaurant workers. The team takes a look at the changing dynamics around this issue.
