Longstreet Will Retire this Summer After 8 Years with PRLA

Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association President & CEO John Longstreet recently announced his intention to retire in July 2022. John has led the PRLA since April 2014.

“It’s been my great honor and privilege to serve as the leader of PRLA. I was blessed to lead a terrific team and work for amazing members, both of whose grit, determination, and innovation have been on full display over the last two years. I am excited to see what comes next for the organization,” said Longstreet. “While this was a difficult decision to make, I look forward to making new memories in this next chapter of life.”

John has more than 40 years of experience in various leadership roles across the hospitality industry. During his tenure at PRLA, he has played a significant role in transforming the PRLA into one of the nation’s leading hospitality associations.

“On behalf of the board of directors, we want to thank John for his leadership and impact over his tenure with PRLA,” said Tom Neely, chairman of the board. “While we’re certainly going to miss John, we are a much stronger organization and industry as a result of his vision, innovation, and leadership. We wish him the best in his retirement and look forward to the road ahead.”

Hope Johnson, president & CEO of Pyramind LLC a firm with a background in recruiting for hospitality leaders, has been hired to collaborate with the PRLA search task force on this important endeavor.  Inquiries can be sent to [email protected].

“John’s announcement gives us plenty of time to prepare the organization for his departure. The board is moving quickly to find the best-qualified candidate and allow for a healthy transition period,” continued Neely.
