14 things we learned at the 2022 ICR Conference

For the second year in a row, the ICR Conference shifted to a virtual format for 2022. Dozens of restaurant companies presented early this week, giving insight into what’s to come for the industry in the year ahead.

We heard from chains ranging from quick-service brands to family-dining chains. In this gallery, see the highlights from the presentations.

Menu changes are among the common threads, whether companies are revamping menus altogether or adjusting their prices to keep up with the market. Chuy’s is doing both, and Domino’s is adjusting its iconic carryout deal in anticipation of wage increases.

One fast-casual brand is going all-in on technology, while a quick-service company that recently went public is slowing down its own digital experience. A casual-dining chain is adding a smaller format, and a family-dining chain is partnering with Reef to enter more markets. Plus, find out what changes can be expected at Darden Restaurants following its planned CEO transition this May.
