Ferrero, the manufacturer of hazelnut spread Nutella, announced the three winning professional chefs of the Wake Up Breakfast with Nutella recipe contest. They are:
• Grand Prize Winner, $3,000: Jon Stokes of the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas for his Nutella-Filled Streusel Baked Mini Coffee Cakes;
• 1st Prize Winner, $2,000: Michael Watz of Washburne Culinary Institute for his Nutella Breakfast Berry Crostini;
• 2nd Prize Winner, $1,000: Rick Browne of Sportsman’s Bar & Grill for his Nutella-Bacon-Banana Waffle Sandwich.
Chefs were asked to submit a breakfast or morning snack recipe that used Nutella. Specifications called for each recipe to contain a minimum of 8 ounces of Nutella.
