The Farm Frites story
Farm Frites started as an independent family company and that’s still the case today. Founder Gerrit de Bruijne discovered the knack of making fries in America. He founded Farm Frites in 1971, starting from a farm shed in Oudenhoorn, the Netherlands, where he made his first fries from ‘bintjes’ potatoes. Farm Frites is now a leading player on the European market, is active in over a hundred countries, and is new on the American market!
From Oudenhoorn to Australia
The Farm Frites head office is still in Oudenhoorn, the small town in South Holland where it all started in 1971. More than 1,500 employees now work for Farm Frites across the world, and the company uses over 1,500,000 tons of potatoes to make over eighty different types of fries, potato specials, and appetizers. The secret to that growth?
‘The fresh taste of the land’
The secret starts on the land, with the potatoes. A huge wealth of cultivation knowledge has been passed on through the generations to today’s potato experts and agronomists. Farm Frites is proud of its agricultural roots and has been working together with people and nature for over fifty years. Farm Frites conducts research on potato varieties each year and continuously monitors potato cultivation developments to ensure the best basis for its fries. Growers from across Europe cultivate their potatoes with respect for the earth and with that same farming heritage passion and focus.
From land to restaurant
Farm Frites uses carefully selected potatoes to make a wide range of high-quality potato products for chefs across the world. The company studies different markets and cultures, and identifies the latest trends to ensure that it always meets the requirements of chefs and their guests. This enables Farm Frites to keep improving its existing products and succeed in introducing new products to the market and to your plate.
A growing family
Since it was founded, Farm Frites has invested every year in the development, cultivation, selection, processing, and packing of potato products. The motivation? Growth. Farm Frites started as an independent family company and that’s still the case today, but now with a much bigger family. Its strong family bond and farming heritage values enable Farm Frites to produce flavorful fries of consistent high quality every day, while maintaining respect for the planet.
Happy faces
Growing together, from potatoes to happy faces. That was and still is the Farm Frites vision. The goal? To make people across the world happy with our simply delicious potato products. Farm Frites does that by building further on its solid rural values and close partnerships. And that’s vital, as the world around us is always changing. Farm Frites keeps on studying different cultures and what customers want - locally and internationally. This enables Farm Frites to continue surprising its customers, ensuring people across the world can enjoy delicious fries and potato specials.
