Dunkin’ Donuts will continue its three-year promotional partnership with New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, the company said Wednesday.
This marks the second year Manning has worked with the beverage-snack chain, which is owned by Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc.
Manning will promote the brand’s Mobile App and Iced Coffee in the New York metropolitan area in the upcoming football season.
As part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ App promotion, the chain is launching the “Eli’s Way to Pay Instant Win & Sweepstakes,” which gives customers the opportunity to win instant prizes and qualify to be one of 10 winners who will get to join Manning at Quest Diagnostics Training Center this fall.
The promotion, which runs through Sept. 26, invites customers to enter by texting “MPAY” on their mobile device. All entrants who text a message discover instantly if they won a prize and are then entered for a chance to win a Grand Prize.
The Dunkin’ Donuts App, which was launched in 2012, has been downloaded more than 3.5 million times, the company said.
“Dunkin’ Donuts has been a really fun brand to work with, and Dunkin’ runs have been part of my daily routine for many years now,” said Manning, a two-time Super Bowl MVP. “Since both Dunkin’ Donuts and the Giants are known for their loyal and dedicated fans, I’m excited to continue this partnership and to keep people in the New York Tri-state area running on Dunkin’ all year long.”
Dunkin’ Donuts has previously partnered with other professional athletes in its home state of Massachusetts. The brand has teamed up with hockey player Tyler Seguin of the Boston Bruins, Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, and Jacoby Ellsbury of the Boston Red Sox.
In addition, the chain said it has launched an Angus Steak Big N’ Toasted breakfast sandwich, available all day for a limited time. The sandwich, which the chain says is larger than its typical breakfast sandwiches, contains two eggs, Angus steak and a slice of American cheese, served on thick slices of Texas toast and is priced at $4.19.
Dunkin’ Donuts is also reprising its seasonal pumpkin-flavored food and beverage items in September. Units have begun to offer pumpkin coffees, lattes, donuts, muffins and other items, as well as a new Pumpkin Pie Donut and Frozen Pumpkin Coffee Coolatta. They will also be available for a limited time, the company said.
