Nation’s Restaurant News launches new CREATE Roadshow event series

The Roadshow is bringing networking and education to emerging restaurateurs in 6 U.S. cities

Nation’s Restaurant News, the premier independent media brand serving the foodservice industry, announced the launch of its CREATE Roadshow, a new event series coming to six U.S. cities in 2023.

The series, featuring localized networking events that will connect and educate emerging restaurateurs, kicked off February 21 in Orlando, and is also traveling to Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, and New York. Each Roadshow is free and open to any restaurant founders, owners, executives and professionals, focusing primarily on locally based small, mid-sized and emerging chains.

“We launched our flagship CREATE Experience as a foodservice event that turned the traditional conference structure on its head, focusing more on interactivity and one-on-one engagement,” said Sam Oches, editor-in-chief of Nation’s Restaurant News. “With this new Roadshow series, we’re bringing that same concept to emerging operators’ backyards, offering a space where they can engage with their local restaurant peers, learn from experts and take a load off from the day-to-day grind of running a restaurant company.”

Los Angeles is next up on the Roadshow tour; Nation’s Restaurant News editors are hosting there on March 20. (To learn more and RSVP to the Los Angeles event, click here.)

Each Roadshow will feature an educational component, highlighting local experts who will share their perspectives on challenges and opportunities facing restaurant operators. The Los Angeles Roadshow will include a panel with three exciting restaurant leaders:

  • Mario Del Pero, cofounder and executive board member at Mendocino Farms and partner at DOM Food Group
  • Stephanie Sollers, CEO of Virtual Dining Concepts
  • Briana Valdez, founder and CEO of HomeState

“We hear all the time from food entrepreneurs that the No. 1 thing they want and need to help their business grow is access to their peers — people who have walked in their shoes and can share their advice on navigating the ups and downs of running a foodservice business,” Oches said. “Our Roadshow series is intended to provide that access with the lowest possible barrier of entry: a couple of hours of their time in their own community.”
