Taco Bell is bringing back its Beefy Crunch Burrito

Fans voted to bring back the Beefy Crunch Burrito over the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco. It will be available beginning in August.

The Beefy Crunch Burrito will return to Taco Bell menus beginning in early August for a limited time after emerging victorious in the brand’s latest campaign asking fans to vote for the menu item they’d like to see make a comeback. The Beefy Crunch Burrito collected more in-app votes than the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco.

The burrito includes beef, Flamin’ Hot Fritos, reduced-fat sour cream, rice and nacho cheese sauce and is wrapped in a warm tortilla. It was initially introduced in 2010 before being removed from menus in 2011. It has since made several return appearances as a limited-time offer, however, it hasn’t appeared on menus since 2018. Fans have since created petitions and a Facebook “movement” calling for its return.

Taco Bell first solicited fans’ votes for a menu item appearance in the fall with a competition between the Enchirito and the Double Decker Taco. That campaign garnered more than 765,000 votes, with the Enchirito taking the crown.

The company is also introducing a California Breakfast Crunchwrap nationwide for a limited time. The offering includes eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese and guacamole all wrapped in a warm tortilla. It is available for the suggested price of $3.79.

And, the chain is also introducing the Grilled Cheese Burrito and the Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito nationwide. These will be available permanently for the suggested price of $5.49 for the steak version, and $4.49 for the grilled cheese with seasoned beef version.

As these two burrito variations go live nationwide, Taco Bell is also testing additional versions in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. That test includes a California Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito, with steak Nacho Fries, guacamole, fiesta strips, low-fat sour cream, diced tomatoes, nacho cheese sauce and a three-cheese blend on the outside of the tortilla. It is available for $5.99.

Also, the Bacon Grilled Cheese Burrito, for $5.99, includes steak, potato fries, chipotle sauce, low-fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce and bacon, with a three-cheese blend on the outside of the tortilla.

Taco Bell is also offering new incentives for customers to use its app, including the ability to customize a Deluxe Cravings Box for $8.99. Further, throughout April, loyalty members will receive 80 rewards points for mailing in any and all used, empty sauce packets to be recycled through TerraCycle, a program Taco Bell began collaborating with in 2021 to reduce waste. The company said it has already collected over 220,000 sauce packets through the program.
