BTS, a K-pop group, is a seven-member boy band from South Korea who rose to international fame in 2017 when K-pop music began to rise in popularity in the United States. With over 20 million albums sold, they are the highest-selling musical act to ever come from South Korea, with millions of devoted fans who call themselves the ARMY (Adorable Representative MC for Youth).
The BTS meal includes a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium fries and Coke as well as the U.S. debut of two new dipping sauces — sweet chili and Cajun flavors — inspired by McDonald’s South Korea recipes. The meal is first celebrity collaboration to go on sale globally.
A spokesperson for the chain did not comment on the future of the new sauces at McDonald’s USA after the meal ends.
The collection releases at 7 p.m. EDT exclusively on Weverse, a shopping app created and owned by BTS’ record label.
A terrycloth robe comes in the band’s signature purple color, and emblazoned with the French fry container on the front left pocket.
Simple hoodies, one in black and one in grey, are part of the collection. The black hoodie is blank and the strings are capped in BTS’ colors, while the grey hoodie features McDonald’s fries with seven fries, one for each band member.
This white t-shirt is inspired by the new sauces.
Reusable tote bags showcasing the sauce packets in BTS’ signature colors are available as part of the collection.
