Puck opens an Asian restaurant

LOS ANGELES Wolfgang Puck has opened an Asian restaurant, Red Seven, in the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif.

Operated by Puck's catering division here, Red Seven is the second venue to open in the interior design complex, which also features an outpost of the Museum of Contemporary Art, a theater and conference center. Puck's catering group also operates WP Café, a lunch-only eatery, and handles catering and food services throughout the design center.

The restaurant marks a return to West Hollywood for Puck, whose empire was founded by the original Spago there. The name Red Seven is a reference to the new red-glass RedBuilding, an expansion of the design center, as well as Asian traditions. "It is my seventh restaurant to open in L.A. Seven is a lucky number, and it's the year 2007 that Red Seven is opening," said Puck.

Red Seven features an Asian menu created by Lee Hefter, executive chef and partner of Wolfgang Puck Catering. The chef de cuisine will be Yoshinori Kojima.

Puck's companies operate 14 fine dining venues, 80 fast-casual Wolfgang Puck Gourmet Express units, and 43 catering venues.
