Captain D’s promotes Brad Reed to chief development officer

Former VP of franchise ops to spearhead expansion

Brad Reed has been promoted from vice president of franchise operations to the newly created position of chief development officer of limited-service seafood chain Captain D’s, the Nashville-based company said Wednesday.

“Over the past several years, Captain D’s has experienced a surge in franchise development, and Brad has been a driving force behind the strategies that have fueled this ongoing success,” CEO Phil Greifeld said in a statement announcing the promotion.

“We … have no doubt that in his new role, Brad will continue leveraging his tremendous experience and industry knowledge to take our brand to new Heights,” he added.

Reed joined the chain, which now has 535 locations, in 2010 as vice president of franchise operations. Before that he was a franchisee of Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina and Texas Roadhouse. He also worked in operations at the Logan’s Roadhouse chain.

In December 2017, Captain D’s was acquired by Sentinel Capital Partners from Centre Partners Management LLC. The chain has enjoyed same-store sales growth for the past six years.
