Top leaders were moving at quick speed last month

Last month, the biggest restaurant-industry executive news was undoubtedly the coming retirement of Taco Bell CEO Mark King and the announcement of his successor – another former sneaker-brand executive. With another marketing expert taking the reins at Taco Bell, what can the company expect?

Meanwhile, Taco Bell’s Taco Tuesday trademark rival Taco John’s announced the upcoming retirement of its own CEO, with no replacement named at this time.

Also, emerging barbecue brand Smokey Bones announced the promotion of its chief operating officer to president and COO. This came after the news that former president and CEO James O’Reilly would be moving to a casual-dining company to serve as its CEO.

Elsewhere, Pressed Juicery named a new CEO, Salata Salad Kitchen named a new president, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux named a new CEO and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice named a new CEO/president.
