Custom Decals, SocialD
Most states require that customers remain six feet apart to prevent spread of the virus. One company is setting out to make those markers part of decoration rather than an afterthought. Each features individualized sayings and the floor markers are customizable for each business with the addition of a logo and color scheme. As customers wait in line during this new normal, they can be looking at part of the decoration not just a strip of tape.
Curvware, Curvware
To ensure any and all pathogens are cleaned off silverware, you need a good dishwasher and good silverware. Curvware has introduced a solution for flatware that’s not actually flat. These forks, knives and spoons are curved around at the handle that’s both more comfortable for the diner while eating and easier to clean and store. Up to four Curvware racks of utensils can fit in a standard flat rack, utilizing empty space.
OneDine
OneDine uses technology to transform a parking space or curbside into a revenue-generating drive-up opportunity. Customers can scan the QR code above the spot with their phone and are instantly connected with the restaurant’s menu where the order can be placed, made, and delivered to that same spot. Touchless payment and ordering is also possible with this app.
Backpack Bags, Vollrath
Many restaurants have turned to delivery, altering their menus to focus on dishes that travel well. (Bye bye avocado toast). A new thermal heated backpack bag from Vollrath helps ensure food quality on the road. This allows the delivery person on their bike to keep food upright with individual slots and pockets. It’s also weather resistant.
QR Ordering, My Menu
Sanitizing every menu between uses and staff interaction will be tedious and disposable paper menus are wasteful. So why not eliminate the menu altogether? My Menu has released QR Ordering where guests can simply scan a QR code at the restaurant through their phones and browse the menu on their own devices. Guests can place their orders on mobile devices as well, without having to download an app and My Menu is currently offering this service to restaurants for free.
PayTable, Cardfree
How will credit card or cash transactions exist in a post COVID-19 world? CardFree thinks that closing out a tab can be contactless and they’re now offering their services for free for the first three months. The system does not require an app download for the consumer and integrates all the restaurant’s programs into one via a table QR code the customer scans to pay. Pre-integrated with most restaurant POS systems and enabled to work with Google and Apple Pay as well.
Non-Contact Head Thermometer, CDN
Big chains have already begun to scan employee temperatures before shifts to ensure customer safety. The Non-Contact Head Thermometer from CDN can read a temperature by converting head readings into the equivalent of oral readings. It can scan temperature from 1.5 inches away from the forehead and has an accuracy of 0.4 degrees while holding a memory recall of the past 25 readings.
