Two Nation’s Restaurant News editors will lead a Twitter discussion on what has been one of the most talked-about foodservice issues in recent weeks: the future of tipping in restaurants.
Senior food editor Bret Thorn and senior financial editor Jonathan Maze will host the conversation at 1 p.m. EST on Friday, using the #NRNchats hashtag.
The chat follows New York City restaurateur Danny Meyer's decision to to phase out tipping at his 13 full-service restaurants while raising menu prices. The move has sparked a national conversation on the culture of tipping.
