Here are some of the news stories trending this week on NRN.com.

After only a little more than a month, Jack in the Box Inc. chief information officer Carlson Choi has exited the company, officials said Friday. No reason for his departure was given.

Darin Harris, Jack in the Box’s CEO, said in a statement that Choi and the company mutually decided to part ways.

With about 200 restaurants opening per year and a push into Canada planned, Chipotle is positioning its brand for nimble growth with innovative new formats. The Newport Beach, Calif.-based chain has plans to grow locations with “Chipotlane” drive-thrus, for example, and it is testing digital-only kitchens with no dining room or front service line. The chain is also working to improve delivery and “carside,” or curbside, service.

In other news, Jack in the Box has teamed up with pop star and TikTok sensation Jason Derulo to launch a virtual pop up in Los Angeles, offering menu items inspired by the Milli Meals that Derulo makes in celebration every time he gets another million followers on the social media platform.

Food from the One in a Milli Virtual Restaurant is available in select areas of Los Angeles via Uber Eats through June 28.
