Trending this week: Chick-fil-A testing ‘melty’ version of Original Chicken Sandwich

Will Congress come to the aid of the restaurant industry? NRA public affairs EVP Sean Kennedy gives his perspective

This week on Nation’s Restaurant News, Chick-fil-A is testing a new Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich. The Chick-fil-A culinary team said the limited-time sandwich is a twist on the brand’s Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich.

“This is the first variation of the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich we’ve tested as a seasonal item,” Chef Stuart Tracy, a senior culinary developer, said in a statement.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reversed itself on aerosol transmission of COVID-19 after updating its guidance.

“A draft version of proposed changes to these recommendations was posted in error to the agency’s official website,” the agency said in a note Monday, after the Friday guidance was removed.

The CDC, in guidance published on Friday and reported by CNN, said the coronavirus can commonly spread "through respiratory droplets or small particles, such as those in aerosols," which are produced even when a person breathes. Sneezes or coughs are believed to produce larger droplets.
