Papa Johns announced Wednesday that the company is partnering with PepsiCo Foodservice to add Doritos Cool Ranch Papadias to the growing Papadias lineup. This is the first time the two brands are collaborating for this limited time product mashup.
The new made-to-order LTO menu item features toasted pizza dough stuffed with chicken, beef, steak (or other fillings of your choice) and topped with Doritos Cool Ranch seasoning, with extra sauce on the side.
“At Papa Johns, flavor exploration puts us at the forefront of our menu innovation, which is why we couldn’t be more excited to bring together […] pizza with the iconic flavor of Doritos Cool Ranch to create this limited-time Papadia,” Kimberly Bean, vice president of menu strategy and calendar planning said in a statement. “[…] The Papadia offers new and current consumers the ultimate chip and sandwich experience and gives them a bold taste in every bite, so delicious you’ll wish you had thought of it first.”
Papa Johns launched the Papadia as a folded flatbread pizza in in Jan. 2020, and the category has since become an integral part of the company’s menu innovation strategy and ticket growth. The original lineup of Papadias has since been followed by several popular LTOs and permanent menu additions like the double cheeseburger Papadia later that year, and the smoky bacon Parmesan crusted Papadia in 2021.
Papa Johns may also be emulating the longstanding success of the Doritos Locos taco launched by Taco Bell more than a decade ago, and still one of the most popular menu items with fans today.
The new Papa Johns Doritos Cool Ranch Papadias will be available first to loyalty rewards members on May 1, and then will be available nationwide starting May 4 through July 23, for $7.99.
