As the novel coronavirus pandemic rages on into its fourth month, chain restaurants seem to have rolled out all the grocery boxes, meal kits and family meals that they’re going to for a while, with one last entry this week from Lion’s Choice that’s suitable for picnics.
Other than that, operators are gearing up for summer with new items like Culver’s Concrete Mixers with Hershey candy in them, Dunkin’s new line of refreshers and a barbecue platter from Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill.
Burger King has upgraded its Impossible Sausage item from a market test to a national limited-time offer, while Capriotti’s is going in a much meatier direction with a line of roast beef sandwiches featuring American wagyu.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse has a strawberry shortcake pizookie, just for one week to celebrate Father’s Day, and Blaze Pizza is promoting the fact that it sells White Claw hard seltzer with a one-day promotion at select restaurants that’s using the seltzer in its crust.
Curry Up Now is joining the fried chicken sandwich game, with the addition of chutney and a tandoori chicken-style marinade.
Main Squeeze Juice Co. is serving soft drinks inspired by Margaritas, and Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade has new drinks, bowls and smoothies that evoke the tropics.
The Whimsey Cookie Co. has upgraded its coffee offerings, and Velvet Taco, as usual, has a Weekly Taco feature.
