Takeout family meals, usually for four people but sometimes for six people, are the order of the day at chain restaurants seeking to cater to people who are sheltering at home in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bartaco, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, California Pizza Kitchen, sister brands Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, Cotton Patch Café, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Panda Express and Red Lobster have all recently introduced some sort of meal for multiple people. Friendly’s has taken a similar approach with its sundae kits.
Some of those chains also have started selling groceries. Beef ‘O’ Brady’s is also making most of its ingredients available for purchase, in case their customers want to cook their own steak and seafood, and CPK also has assembled various CPK Market packs for people to pick up.
Barcelona Wine Bar has scaled back its menu to customer favorites, determined by each chef, and is also selling bread by the loaf and half-loaf.
Panda, too, has streamlined its menu, to streamline production and focus on what their customers like best.
Velvet Taco, meanwhile, has resumed its Weekly Taco Feature.
