NRN video of the week: Carl's Jr. spoofs past sexy ads with new burger commercial

The quick-service brand is poking fun at its scandalous ad campaign history

For its latest marketing campaign "Famous Stars, Eating Famous Stars," Carl's Jr. tapped Celeste Barber, an Australian native who has gained an Instagram following of 5 million by parodying picture-perfect models and celebrities.

In the video above, Barber washes a car and chows down on the quick-service chain's signature Famous Star Burger in comic fashion. The campaign plays on the brand's history of burger ads featuring scantily-clad women like Paris Hilton or Kate Upton acting sensually.

In another ad spot, Barber holds the burger while in bed.

The quick-service operator also released a reel of the Instagrammer's bloopers.

Carl's Jr.'s parent company CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., is based in Franklin, Tenn. The CKE system includes more than 3,300 restaurant locations worldwide.
