Ruby Tuesday chief branding officer departs post

Daniel P. Dillon is no longer with the company, an SEC filing states

Ruby Tuesday Inc. executive vice president and chief branding officer Daniel P. Dillon is no longer with the company, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC document, which was filed by the company on Feb. 21, stated that Dillon left his post on Feb. 14.

Ruby Tuesday executives declined to comment on the change.

Dillon’s departure comes just a few months after Ruby Tuesday selected James J. “JJ” Buettgen to succeed founder Sandy Beall as the company’s president and chief executive. Buettgen assumed the top role Dec. 1 after resigning as chief marketing officer at Darden Restaurants Inc.

Maryville, Tenn.-based Ruby Tuesday has nearly 800 company-owned or franchised casual-dining restaurants systemwide. The company also owns Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, a fast-casual concept.
