Denver restaurant offers freebies for a Rockies’ homer

DENVER Free tacos for a stolen base? Try free champagne for a home run.

On Monday, Taco Bell announced it would award free Crunchy Beef Tacos if a player steals a base during the World Series. On Tuesday, Corridor 44 here said it would give free champagne to diners in the restaurant whenever Colorado Rockies left fielder Matt Holliday hits a home run during the Series, which begins Wednesday night.

The champagne will be complimentary only for diners older than 21. The quality of the champagne will increase with each succeeding homer that Holliday hits, said Brian Siffermann, managing partner of the champagne bar and fine-dining restaurant.

TVs in the restaurant will be tuned to the games so diners know when Holliday bangs one out.

Holliday hit four home runs during the playoffs against the Arizona Diamondbacks and was named Most Valuable Player of the National League Championship Series.
