Jamba Juice 2Q profit jumps 51%

Turnaround efforts at Jamba Juice Inc. continued to gain traction in the second quarter ended July 2, as net income rose 51 percent from the same quarter a year earlier. Investments in marketing and a focus on value pricing boosted customer traffic, as did the expansion of a fresh-juice platform, unit remodels and the development of international locations and express units.
 

NET INCOME

Result: $6.2 million, or 36 cents per share
% Increase: 51% (from $4.1 million, or 27 cents per share)

REVENUE

Result: $67.3 million
% Increase: 1.9% (from $66 million)

SAME-STORE SALES

% Increase systemwide: 1.7%


% Increase at corporate units: 2.2%


% Increase at franchise locations: 1.2%
