Potbelly names David Daniels as CMO

Marketing executive joins sandwich brand from The Food Hall Co.

Potbelly Corp. has named David Daniels as chief marketing officer, the company said Tuesday. He will assume the role Aug. 23.

Potbelly David Daniels CMO.jpgThe Chicago-based sandwich chain said Daniels, left, most recently served as senior vice president of marketing at The Food Hall Co. in Dallas and will report to Bob Wright, Potbelly’s CEO and president.

Daniels will succeed Brandon Rhoten, who left the position in December.

Prior to The Food Hall, Daniels served as a marketing executive with Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV and worked with Pizza Hut and Yum! Brands.

Wright said in a statement that Daniels “brings significant executive experience and success leading some of the world’s best-selling brands, delivering top- and bottom-line growth. We will immediately benefit from his broad experience in sales and marketing, consumer goods, quick-service restaurant, hospitality and e-commerce.” 

Daniels added that he looked forward “to bringing my strong blend of brand-building, marketing experience and digital-marketing expertise to Potbelly and contributing to its future growth.”

Potbelly, founded in 1977, has about 400 company-owned and more than 40 franchised shops in the United States.
