FAT Brands names financial chief

Rebecca Hershinger succeeds Ron Roe in position

FAT Brands Inc., a multi-concept restaurant company with holdings like Fatburger and Buffalo’s Café, has named Rebecca Hershinger as chief financial officer, the company said Thursday.

Hershinger succeeds Ron Roe, who will continue with Los Angeles-based FAT Brands as senior vice president of finance and will focus on integration of new acquisitions, the company said.

Hershinger most recently served as CFO at Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Genius Brands International, a publicly traded animation studio that creates and licenses multimedia content for children.

Prior to Genius Brands, she held positions at JP Morgan Chase & Co., Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., SpectrumDNA Inc. and CFO Advisory Services Inc., an accounting and business consultancy she founded.

“Rebecca brings incredible skills to our finance team from her previous experience scaling high-growth companies, where she provided unmatched finance vision, leadership and strategy to help these organizations reach the next level,” said Andy Wiederhorn, FAT Brands CEO and president, in a statement.

Hershinger said her financial background would help “continue to advance our existing portfolio, while looking forward to future acquisitions and expansion.”

In July, FAT Brands closed on its $12.5 million acquisition of West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Hurricane Grill & Wings, which has more than 50 units in eight states.

FAT, which stands for “Fresh, Authentic, Tasty,” also owns the Buffalo’s Express and Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouse brands. The company has more than 360 locations.
