2018 International 25: Sizing up the top foreign foodservice brands

See how the largest global players stack up in the annual ranking

The International Top 25 is a look at the 25 largest restaurant chains and parent companies with headquarters outside of the United States and Canada based on their worldwide foodservice sales. Sales figures are in millions of U.S. dollars. Unit counts are year-end worldwide system units. Estimated Sales Per Unit figures are U.S. dollars, in thousands.

Results are actual, estimated or projections. Sales figures are in U.S. dollars, fixed at 2017 exchange rates for all years shown. Sales growth reflects change in numbers derived by applying latest-year (2017) U.S. exchange rate across three years of sales reported or estimated using other currencies. Estimated Sales Per Unit figures are derived using 2017 and 2016 annual systemwide sales fixed at 2017 U.S. exchange rates.

Sales and unit results were calculated by London-based Euromonitor International. Estimated sales per unit figures were calculated by Nation’s Restaurant News

Note: On Sept. 1, 2016, FamilyMart Co. Ltd. merged with Uny Group Holdings Co., operator of licensed Circle K and proprietary Sunkus convenience-store chains, to create FamilyMart Uny Holdings Co. Ltd. and convert some Circle K locations to FamilyMart stores. Results shown for FamilyMart-branded locations only.

Brands with no 2017 rank are new to the roster in 2018 or returned after an absence.
