Kold-Draft appointed Martin Gardner president and chief operating officer. Also this week: International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, Hoshizaki American Inc., United Fresh Produce Association, U.S. Foodservice, Procter & Gamble Professional, Coleman Natural Foods, and Sysco Corp.

CLEVELAND -- Kold-Draft, the manufacturer of ice machines, has named Martin Gardner president and chief operating officer. Leonard Kosar will remain chief executive. Most recently, Gardner was executive vice president of sales at TTI Floor Care. He also held several executive positions at GE Lighting and served as vice president of sales at ICI Paints. Gardner called Kold-Draft “a dedicated company at the forefront of ice-making technology.”

CHICAGO -- The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, or IFMA, has created two new positions. The organization named Jim Green to the post of vice president of strategy and member value and Tony DePaolo to the role of vice president of sales and membership development. The association said the new positions are part of IFMA’s mission to focus on being a business partner with members.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- Hoshizaki America Inc., the supplier of ice machines and reach-in refrigerators, has named Christopher Leader chief operating officer. Most recently, Leader headed up operations at Skyline Corp., a producer of housing and recreational vehicles.

WASHINGTON -- The United Fresh Produce Association will showcase the most recent food safety technology and practices at United Fresh 2010, which will be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas April 20-23. The Food Safety and Research Demo Center, which will join the Traceability Demo Center, will focus on food safety solutions for all points in the fresh and fresh-cut produce supply chain.

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- U.S. Foodservice said it launched two new websites aimed at helping restaurateurs enhance sales and efficiency through industry best practices. The distributor said Foodsight, www.usfoodsight.com, and Beyond the Plate, www.beyondtheplate.com, feature articles, tools, testimonials, product solutions and interactive features designed to help operators conduct their businesses.

CINCINNATI -- Procter & Gamble Professional, the away-from-home division of Procter & Gamble, has launched “Food Safety Solutions,” a comprehensive cleaning, sanitation and food safety program supporting the needs of the foodservice industry. P&G said the program has been designed to streamline products and processes and comprises four pillars, including reliable products, employee training, compliance solutions, and equipment and service.

GOLDEN, Colo. -- Coleman Natural Foods, the processor of fresh and prepared natural and organic free-range poultry, beef and pork products, has formed an exclusive agreement with Sysco Corp., based in Houston. According to the agreement, Sysco will distribute Coleman’s fully cooked All Natural burgers, hot dogs, cooked chicken fillets and breaded chicken items, organic nuggets and strips, and IQF boneless skinless chicken breast fillets.
