TW Garner president ‘Reg’ Garner passes away at 56 after long illness

WINSTON-SALEM N.C. —Ralph Edward “Reg” Garner, the president of TW Garner Food Co., died after a long illness. He was 56.

Born in 1952, Garner held many positions in the firm built by his grandfather, father and uncles. After college he joined the company full time, becoming familiar with each position. —Ralph Edward “Reg” Garner, the president of TW Garner Food Co., died after a long illness. He was 56.

In 1994 he was elected president, a post he held until his death June 26. During that time he built the company from a small regional food manufacturing company to a national food marketing and manufacturing firm offering such well-known brands as Texas Pete Sauces and Green Mountain Gringo Salsas. —Ralph Edward “Reg” Garner, the president of TW Garner Food Co., died after a long illness. In 2003 TW Garner Food Co. was awarded the Mass Mutual National Family Business of the Year—Medium category. Garner was a respected figure in the community and served on the board of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, eventually being named to the board chair.
