Payment card security conference at University of Delaware

NEWARK Del. The University of Delaware, in conjunction with the Unified Compliance Framework, will present a conference on hospitality industry compliance with Payment Card Industry security requirements May 1-2 at the University of Delaware Courtyard by Marriott Hotel here.

According to organizer Cihan Cobanoglu, associate professor of hospitality information technology at the university, topics to be covered include how to keep a hotel, restaurant or club PCI compliant; P.I.N. entry device security requirements; and the new Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standards self-assessment questionnaire. Bob Russo, general manager for the PCI Security Standards Council, will present a keynote speech, as will be Dorian Cougias, chief technology officer for Unified Compliance Framework of Oakland, Calif. UCF is an initiative to support IT compliance management by focusing on commonalities across regulations, standards-based development, and simplified architectures.

Organizers said proceeds from the event will support student grants to further PCI education and research at the university.
