McD's global sames-store sales jump 4.9%

OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s Corp. continued its string of positive sales results, with global same-store sales up 4.9 percent in January, versus the same month last year, driven by gains of 3.6 percent in the United States, 6.8 percent in Europe, and 4.3 percent in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa region, the company reported Thursday.

The company said sales at U.S. based units were driven by successful breakfast offerings, the Snack Wrap product line
