Lenny's opts for wireless network option

News

MEMPHIS Tenn. Lenny's Franchisor LLC, parent of the 165-unit Lenny's Sub Shop chain, said future restaurants, where applicable, will use wireless connectivity technology from Cybera Inc., the chain's established provider of managed, broadband-network services.

"Technology is an important piece of our strategy, and the convenience of a wireless connection to our secure, corporate network removes barriers to business for the franchisee," said Brent Alvord, Lenny's president. "We like the ability to grow the network anywhere in the country in the future, the secure architecture of the network and the ease of use for our franchisees," he said of why Cybera's wireless option appealed to Lenny's management.

Any Lenny's franchisee that purchases the proprietary Lenny's point-of-sale system will receive Cybera managed network services, said representatives of Franklin, Tenn.-based Cybera. They said the bundle provides franchisees with the benefits of advanced reporting and sales promotion capabilities, as well as the flexibility to connect using wireless broadband technology where traditional wired connectivity options might prove problematic or otherwise slow store openings.
