DineEquity CFO resigns

GLENDALE Calif. Thomas Conforti has resigned as chief financial officer for DineEquity Inc., the operator and franchisor of the IHOP and Applebee’s brands said Monday.

Corporate controller Greggory Kalvin has been named interim chief financial officer while the company searches for a replacement with the help of search firm Crist Kolder Associates.

Conforti, who said he plans to pursue other opportunities, joined IHOP nearly six years ago and helped navigate the company through its acquisition of the Applebee’s chain and this year’s name change to DineEquity. The company now operates or franchises more than 3,300 restaurants.

Julia Stewart, DineEquity’s chairman and chief executive officer, said Conforti “has been a valuable partner in positioning IHOP and now DineEquity for long-term success. We appreciate his many contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
