Cinnabon

Cinnabon is a quick-service snack restaurant chain known for its cinnamon rolls, the smell of which has been tempting people in shopping malls and travel hubs for decades. It has also teamed up with other chains to offer desserts for them and its products are available in retail as well.

Cinnabon was founded by Rich Komen, owner Restaurants Unlimited, a Seattle-based operator of multiple upscale restaurants, who opened the first location in Seattle’s SeaTac Mall in 1985. The first franchised location opened in the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania in 1986.

AFC Enterprises Inc. bought Cinnabon in 1998, and in turn sold it to Focus Brands, its current owner, in 2004.

As of 2021 there are Cinnabon locations in more than 50 countries.
