Texas Roadhouse COO Douglas Thompson retires

Thompson is leaving the company, effective immediately

Texas Roadhouse, Inc. chief operating officer Douglas Thompson is retiring effective immediately, according to an 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

According to the 8-K form, Thompson informed the Louisville, Ky.-based company of his departure on Nov. 29, 2021 after being with the company for three years, though no further details on the reason for his leaving or where Thompson might be going next were immediately available.

“In connection with Mr. Thompson’s retirement from the company, the company expects to enter into a separation agreement with Mr. Thompson,” the form said.

No replacement for Thompson has yet been named.

In October, Texas Roadhouse increased menu prices by 4.2% as the company navigates increasing wages and commodity costs.

Texas Roadhouse, Inc. owns the casual-dining Roadhouse and Bubba’s 33 as well as the fast-casual Jaggers. Texas Roadhouse, founded in 1993, has more than 650 restaurants in 49 states and 10 other countries. Its brands include the casual-dining Texas Roadhouse and Bubba’s 33 and the fast-casual Jaggers.
