White Castle to launch garlic cheese sliders

White Castle System Inc. is introducing new garlic cheese sliders for a limited time.

The Garlic Cheese Slider is a traditional White Castle steamed beef patty topped with a slice of garlic cheese. The Mushroom and Garlic Cheese Slider is the same item with the addition of mushrooms in a savory sauce.

The Chicken Marinara Slider contains lightly breaded chicken breast topped with garlic cheese and marinara sauce.

The 421-unit chain is making all three varieties available from Sept. 26 through Oct. 30. They will be sold in orders of two Mushroom and Garlic Cheese or two Chicken Marinara sliders, or three Garlic Cheese Sliders, with small fries and a drink for $2.99.

The LTOs is the latest experiment by the 89-year-old White Castle, which usually stays focused on its iconic mini-burgers. Over the summer, the Columbus, Ohio-based company started testing three new concepts — one focusing on barbecue, one on noodles and another on pressed club sandwiches — by co-locating them with existing White Castle units.
