Wendy's adds a chicken salad Frescata

DUBLIN Ohio Wendy's has extended its sandwich line for the second time in three weeks, this time with a chicken salad entry. Slated to be available through the spring, the Chunky Chicken Salad Frescata consists of all-white-meat chicken, celery, onions and green peppers in a Dijon Ranch sauce, topped with tomato and romaine lettuce, served on Wendy's artisanal bread, which is baked off daily in the restaurants. The sandwich sells for $3.49, or as part of a $4.99 combo meal.

On March 7, Wendy's said it would feature the 4-Alarm Spicy Chicken sandwich until mid-April. Although that selection is also served on artisanal bread, it was not designated as being part of the Frescata line. The 4-Alarm sandwich has a suggested retail price of $3.99, or $5.69 as part of a combo meal.

The Frescata sandwiches on Wendy's permanent menu are the Frescata Club, Roasted Turkey and Swiss and Black Forest Ham and Swiss. They are served at all 6,300 Wendy's restaurants in North America.

The introduction of the newest Frescata is being supported with magazine advertising, signs in health clubs and in-store merchandising.
