The McIlhenny Co. is seeking recipe submissions for its Tabasco brand Hottest Chef Contest. Also in this week's edition: The Seritech Group Inc., Coca-Cola North America, Tyson Fresh Meats, Fishery Products International, the National Turkey Federation and Ocean Beauty Seafoods LLC.

AVERY ISLAND, La. -- The McIlhenny Co., the manufacturer of Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce, is hosting the 2009 Tabasco brand Hottest Chef Contest. Professional chefs and culinary students from the United States and Canada can submit an original, economical menu item featuring one or more of three Tabasco flavors: Original Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce, Tabasco brand Green Jalape–o Pepper Sauce, and Tabasco brand Chipotle Pepper sauce. Each entry must include the cost of ingredients and the margin of profit it would command in a restaurant. The winner of the professional contest will receive a $10,000 prize. A $2,500 prize is also available to the best budget-friendly recipe by a culinary student. All entries must be submitted online at www.Tabascofoodservice.com or postmarked by mail by July 17.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Seritech Group Inc., based here, has appointed Gonzalo Checa as president of its Food Safety division. Checa, who previously served as marketing director for Kimberly-Clark's Do-It-Yourself Business group, will be responsible for developing new service offerings for The Seritech Group Inc,, which provides brand protection services for the hospitality, retail, food processing and health care industries.

ATLANTA -- The Nebraska State Restaurant Association honored Coca-Cola North America, which has its headquarters here, with its Vendor of the Year award. The award, which was presented to Bryan Wagner, sales executive of Coca-Cola North America Foodservice, recognizes him for his service on the Nebraska Restaurant Association's Board of Advisors and his participation on other board committees.

DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. -- Tyson Fresh Meats, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods Inc., based here, has relaunched its Star Ranch Angus brand. Star Ranch Angus features a line of category "A" Angus beef and is now offered at various foodservice establishments nationwide as well as at grocery retailers.

DANVERS, Mass. -- Fishery Products International, the seafood provider based here, has launched its new website at www.fisheryproducts.com. The site is designed to be used by the foodservice industry and will feature recipes, information on Fishery Products International as well as a rebates and offers page for users.

RENO, Nev. -- The National Turkey Federation presented Port of Subs, the family-style chain based here, with the Turkey on the Menu Award at the National Restaurant Association trade show last month in Chicago. The award recognizes Port of Subs for its "consistent and innovative turkey sandwich menu items."

SEATTLE -- Ocean Beauty Seafoods LLC, a seafood processor based here, has become the first seafood company to comply with the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement's new Certified Cargo Screening Program. The CCSP requires increased screening of cargo throughout the chain of custody. The program specifies that 100 percent of all cargo shipped by passenger aircraft must be screened by Feb. 1, 2012.
