Taco Bell vet named Papa Murphy’s president

VANCOUVER Wash. Clarice Turner has stepped down as headquarters operations director of Taco Bell Corp. to become president and chief operating officer of Papa Murphy’s International, parent of the nearly 1,000-unit Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza chain, PMI said.

Turner succeeds Mark Laramie. The circumstances of his departure were not disclosed.

At Taco Bell, Turner improved the chain's systems, processes and products, and assisted in he Yum! Brands holding's efforts to improve margins and communication, according to PMI.

 

Turner began her career with Taco Bell as a market manager in Seattle and later was promoted to oversee the chain’s emerging business in Canada, the pizza franchisor said. Later, she reportedly spearheaded operations in eight western U.S. states and helped to establish standards for locations that Taco Bell co-habited with such sister Yum brands.

 

Turner has an undergraduate degree in geology and a master’s of business degree, both from San Francisco State University.
