GAITHERSBURG Md. Contract feeder Sodexho USA has named Patrick E. Connolly president of its health care services division, which is the company's biggest operation by sales volume, and a chief operating officer of the entire company.
Connolly, previously the company’s senior services division president, assumes the position vacated by George Chavel, who replaced Richard Macedonia as the company’s president and chief executive on Sept. 1. Macedonia retired after 39 years with the company.
In addition to his duties as president of the health care division, Connolly serves as one of four chief operating officers for the company. The other three are presidents of Sodexho’s other market divisions: business and industry, education, and government services.
Connolly, who holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and a master’s degree from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, is a committee member for the Leadership Circle of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, or AAHSA. He also serves on the advisory commission of the Institute for the Future of Aging Services.
Sodexho USA last year reported annual sales of $6.7 billion. Of that, $4.2 billion, or approximately 62 percent, was generated by the health care services segment.
