Smokey Bones asks diners to cast vote for meals

ORLANDO Fla. Smokey Bones Barbeque & Grill is set to roll an election-theme promotion with its Decision '08 mix-and-match menu, the 73-unit chain said Friday.

Starting June 23, diners can select two meat items and two side items from a "ballot" menu to create their own combination meal for $9.99. The promotion runs through Aug. 3, after which Smokey Bones will announce the most popular combination. The meat choices include pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, a quarter BBQ chicken, smoked sliced turkey, chicken wings, chicken fingers and grilled BBQ chicken breast. Among the side dishes are fire-roasted corn, baked potato, coleslaw, BBQ baked beans, steamed broccoli, French fries, mashed potatoes & gravy, and cinnamon apples.

Also this summer, Smokey Bones will promote its 16-ounce pitchers of flavored teas, lemonades and sangrias. The selections include Cranberry Crush and Berry Wave lemonades; Log Cabin Limeade; South of the Border Sweet Tea; Twisted Tropic Tea; Irish Apple; and Citrus Sun, Berry Burst and Blush Sangrias. The teas and lemonades cost $5.49 per pitcher, and the sangrias are priced at $5.99 a pitcher.

Smokey Bones, based here, is owned by an affiliate of private-equity firm Sun Capital Partners.
