Rockfish Seafood Grill sold

RICHARDSON Texas Investor Henry Leonard has succeeded Randy Dewitt as chief executive officer of 14-unit Rockfish Seafood Grill LLC following the casual chain’s acquisition by Leonard and a group of private-equity firms. Terms were not disclosed.

The other purchasers include Charter Private Equity LP of Dallas, White Oak Capital Partners, LP of Dallas and Capital Point Partners of Houston Leonard is based in Tyler, Texas.

Rockfish has units in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston as well as Lubbock, Texas, and Durham, N.C.

Dewitt, the concept’s founder and principal, said the sale “enables me to further develop the Twin Peaks brand and launch additional new brands.” Twin Peaks, which features burgers and sandwiches as well as plaid-clad waitresses in the style of Hooters, has stores in the Texas cities of Austin, Lewisville, Mesquite, Plano and Round Rock as well as Albuquerque, N.M.

Brinker International Inc. owned a share of Rockfish, but sold its interest back to the founders in 2006 to focus on its main brands.

GE Capital provided senior debt to the acquiring group.
