Puck's portfolio grows with Dallas operations

DALLAS Wolfgang Puck has signed on to operate a fine-dining restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Dallas’ signature Reunion Tower. In addition, his Wolfgang Puck Catering division will provide foodservice at the historic Dallas Union Station, which is being renovated into event and meeting space to seat a total of 1,000.

Both venues are scheduled to open within the year.

Woodbine Development Corp. of Dallas, which manages and develops the hotel and rail station properties, made the announcement Thursday. Puck, who attended an announcement event, said he had worked years ago with the Mansion on Turtle Creek’s restaurant in Dallas and was enticed by the Union Station banquet facility’s $6 million kitchen.

Woodbine and Hyatt are supervising a $46 million renovation of Reunion Tower and Union Station. Puck’s new restaurant will occupy the space that formerly housed Antares restaurant in the Tower.

“The 50-story Reunion Tower has become an unofficial symbol of Dallas over the years, and with the addition of Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant and catering, the tower will continue to be Dallas’ most frequented destination,” said Steve Vissotzky, general manager of Hyatt Regency Dallas.

Tom Kaplan, senior managing partner of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, said: “With 15 fine-dining restaurants coast to coast, we are very much looking forward to bringing our brand to Dallas.  The iconic Reunion Tower location offers an exceptional opportunity for our group to expand into the Dallas market and to further help shape the changing culinary landscape of the city.”

The Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group's portfolio includes the Spago, Postrio and Chinois concepts.

Wolfgang Puck Catering, formed in 1998, operates prominent venues in its hometown of Los Angeles as well as in other cities.
