DALLAS The 59-unit Pizza Patron chain, targeted at the Hispanic market in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and Texas, will be accepting Mexican pesos as well as U.S. dollars as payment through the end of February.
The program is being marketed in stores with “Pizza por Pesos” collateral materials.
“Many of our customers travel back and forth to Mexico regularly, and sometimes they end up with pesos left over,” said Ernesto Alonso Hernandez, director or restaurant operations for Pizza Patron Inc. Many travel back to Mexico during the Christmas-New Years holiday. Executives say the program may be extended if it’s successful.
