Ryan Nerz, an employee of contest governing board Major League Eating, said of Chestnut’s winning effort: “He’s unbelievable. He just keeps on going. Chestnut’s grand prize consisted of a free trip to New York City, a year’s supply of hot dogs—no doubt he wants to keep eating plenty of those babies—and a $250 gift card to the Arizona Mills mall. —Let’s be frank: It takes dogged determination to win a hot-dog eating contest.
