NRA cuts three executives

WASHINGTON As part of a wide-ranging restructuring plan, the National Restaurant Association has cut three top executives from the products and services division of its NRA Solutions subsidiary.

The executives are Mary Adolf, president and chief operating officer; James Boudreau, senior vice president of brand marketing; and John Nocera, senior vice president.

Earlier this year, the NRA had transferred the executives over from its Educational Foundation to its new Solutions arm, which has been charged with developing value-added products like insurance and credit card processing programs to help restaurateurs run their businesses.

"Having just completed a strategic planning process that will chart the direction for the National Restaurant Association for the next five years, there will be changes made to move that vision forward, which is not unusual as a new plan is implemented," said Dawn Sweeney, president and chief executive of the NRA.

"We appreciate all of Mary Adolf, Jim Boudreau and John Nocera's contributions during their tenure at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and with National Restaurant Association Solutions, and we wish them every success in their future endeavors," Sweeney said.

Adolf, who had served as president and chief operating officer of the NRAEF from 2000 until being transferred recently to the NRA Solutions subsidiary, said, "I am very proud of the work I have done at the [NRAEF/NRA Solutions] and the success the organization has achieved under my leadership.

"But these are challenging economic times," she continued. "As Dawn charts a new vision for the NRA, she is looking at opportunities to leverage talent, to maximize resources and to take the organization in new direction."

Prior to joining the NRA, Adolf, who is recognized as an expert on food safety issues, served as senior vice president and associate director of Ketchum's Global Food and Nutrition Practice.

Boudreau joined the NRAEF in 2002 to head up its marketing division, while Nocera signed on in 2000. Both reported to Adolf at the NRAEF and NRA Solutions.
